Lindsay Dee Lohan ( born on July 2, 1986 in New York City ) is an American actress and singer. She grew up in Merrick and Cold Spring Harbour on Long Island. Her father was a Wall Street trader and was arrested for stock fraud and her mother was a Wall Street analyst. Her parents finally divorced in 2007, after previously having separated and reconciled.
Lohan did many modeling and commercial jobs as a child. She was signed to Ford Models at age three and did ads for companies such as Calvin Klein Kids, Abercrombie Kids and acted in over 60 commercials by age 10. She finally landed a part in Disney's "The Parent Trap" in 1998 alongside Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson.
Lohan was making a name for herself in the business, constantly working. She starred in "Freaky Friday" (2003), "Mean Girls" (2004), "Herbie: Fully Loaded" (2005), "Just My Luck" (2006), and others.
Unfortunately, even though her career was going upwards Lohan was struggling with personal issues. She was partying too hard, being arrested for DUI, going to rehab and relapsing. Ultimately she was dropped from one of her projects. She appears to be back on track and two of her movies are set for release in 2010.
Lohan has 2 albums - "Speak" (2004) and "A Little More Personal" (2005). She started work on her third album in 2008 but never finished and released it. Lohan is the youngest person to ever have hosted the MTV Movie Awards (at 17, in 2004).
Lohan has dated Aaron Carter, Harry Morton, Wilmer Valderamma and British TV host Calum Best. In 2008 she became involved with Samantha Ronson, sister of music producer Mark Ronson and fashion designer Charlotte Ronson. They had an on and off relationship until they finally broke up in April 2009.
